Sammy the brown capuchin used to live in an unsuitable
roadside zoo in Douglas Arizona. Sammy’s
“habitat” was more like a jail cell: a hard cement floor, with no vegetation or anything natural
at all. The conditions were unfit for any animal, let alone an intelligent,
sensitive creature such as a Brown Capuchin.
The zoo eventually went bankrupt and Sammy desperately
needed a home. Lucky for Sammy (and
us!), Michael and Courtney Connolly donated the money needed to build a new
habitat. They named it “Scoo Town ”,
and it is filled with trees and rope “vines”, with blue sky above and green earth
below.
Recently, the Connolly family came to visit their little
Sammy boy, and he was so excited! He
especially connected with his adopted “monkey mama” Courtney. Here are some pictures of this wonderful
visit.
Sammy immediately took a shine to Courtney. |

After meeting Sammy, the family toured the rest of the facility.

The story of Sammy and the Connollys shows how a person can make a difference in the life of a fellow primate. Even small donations can go a long way towards building a safe, nurturing life for these abused animals. Thank you Connolly family!

ReplyDeleteWe are so happy to be a part of the family! Sammy is an awesome little guy!
ReplyDeleteThe Connollys are the best!! Love the picture inside the habitat. Photos from the outside don't do justice to the Jungle Friends monkey habitats. Inside they are awesome!
ReplyDeleteWatch this video of Sammy in his new habitat for a good look at the inside of his new habiat! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1TeSp8bDI8
